Student Resources

Welcome to the Student Resources for the Companion Website for Researching Society and Culture. These exercises are based on experience of teaching research methods to students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They are intended to improve understanding of the ideas expressed in the chapters, and give practice in the techniques described. In many cases they are suitable for group work, where students can join together to do the exercises. They are not intended to be wholly prescriptive: they can be modified to suit particular learning needs. In many cases there is no 'right answer', but the exercises will nevertheless enable you to form a deeper and more practical understanding of the material. The following resources are available for you to use in conjunction with the chapters in the book:

    1. Web-links
    2. Workshop and Discussion Exercises
    3. Journal Articles
    4. Glossary
