Forum on Child and Family Statistics

childstats.gov

This is what the site offers: "easy access to federal and state statistics and reports on children and their families, including population and family characteristics, economic security, health, behavior and social environment, and education." Interesting reports include "America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being," the annual report on the status of the nation's children, and "Nurturing Fatherhood."

Federal Bureau of Investigation

www.fbi.gov

The official site of the FBI provides the Uniform Crime Reports, which provide several years' worth of state-by-state data (and graphics) on domestic violence.

Public Agenda

www.publicagenda.com

"The inside source for public opinion and policy analysis," created as a resource for journalists, offers facts (some in graphic form) for understanding various issues, as well as analyses of public opinion survey data and of public policy news and studies. One feature increasing this site's credibility is its "red flags" about potentially misleading poll results. Among the social issues addressed is the state of the American family.
