Introduction to the Study Site

To further enhance students’ understanding of and interest in Special Education in Contemporary Society, 3e, SAGE has created a student website to accompany the text. This website includes the following:

  • Flash cards that allow for easy reviewing of key terms and concepts;
  • Self-quizzes that can be used to check their understanding of the material or can be sent in to the professor for a grade;
  • PowerPoint slides provided in lecture format so students can take notes during class lectures;
  • Internet activities that direct students to various sites on the Web and ask them to apply their knowledge to a particular topic;
  • Web Resources & Media Links thatprovide links to various sites on the Web for further research and for real-life stories and situations related to the chapter topic;
  • Learning from Journal Articles – which includes original research from SAGE journal articles, and teaches students how to read and analyze a journal article;
  • Sample Individualized Family Service Plan and Sample IEP.
